Data Deletion Instructions
LAST UPDATED — JULY 29, 2026
This page explains how to have data deleted from Cerros. Some deletions happen automatically when you end a connection — you do not have to ask. Everything else is one email away, and we do not charge for it or make you justify it.
If you only want to stop collection without deleting anything, turn the connector off in the Cerros platform. Off pauses syncing and keeps your history. Disconnect ends the relationship.
Deleting your Cerros account entirely
Email data@cerros.ai from the address on your account, or ask the person who administers your workspace to do it. We delete the brand database and everything in it, disconnect every connector, and confirm by reply within 30 days — usually the same week. Your database is yours alone and is never shared with another brand, so there is nothing to disentangle first.
Advertising platforms (Meta)
Meta's Platform Terms require data collected under a connection to be deleted once that connection ends, and it happens on its own. There are two ways to end it, and both start the same clock:
- Disconnect inside Cerros — Data Connectors → Meta Ads → Disconnect.
- Remove Cerros at Meta — Business settings → Integrations. Meta sends us no usable notification, so we detect it ourselves by confirming with Meta that the access we were granted no longer works, and record the date it stopped.
Seven days later the advertising data we hold for those ad accounts is deleted — campaigns, ad sets, ads, creative, and all performance history. Reconnecting within those seven days cancels the deletion, so an accidental disconnect costs you nothing. Want it gone sooner? Email data@cerros.ai and we will run it immediately.
Shopify
Deletion follows Shopify's own requests rather than a button in Cerros:
- Uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin. Shopify sends us a
shop/redactrequest 48 hours later, and we delete that store's data on receiving it. - A customer data request. When a customer asks what you hold about them, Shopify sends
customers/data_requestand we return the customer information Cerros has stored for your store, for you to pass on. - A customer deletion request. Shopify sends
customers/redactand we delete that customer's personal information from your store's database.
Amazon Selling Partner (Seller Central and Vendor Central)
Also automatic. Pressing Disconnect in Cerros, or revoking Cerros in Seller Central under Apps and Services → Manage Your Apps, starts a clock; the data collected under that authorization is deleted seven days later — well inside the 30 days Amazon's Data Protection Policy allows. Reconnecting within the window cancels it. If you hold both a Seller Central and a Vendor Central authorization, ending one does not delete the other's data.
Every other connector
Disconnecting any other connector removes the stored credentials and stops all collection immediately, but keeps the history already collected — because for most brands that history is the reason they connected in the first place, and losing it to a mis-click would be worse than keeping it. To have it deleted as well, email data@cerros.ai naming the connector. We confirm by reply within 30 days.
Individual privacy requests
If you are an individual rather than a brand — a customer of a store we hold data for, or a user of the platform — you can request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal information under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and comparable laws. Email data@cerros.ai. Where the data belongs to a brand's store, that brand is the data controller and we act on its instructions, so we will coordinate with them and confirm the outcome to you.
What deletion does not reach
Deletion covers the live brand database. Encrypted database backups age out on our normal retention schedule rather than being edited, and are never used to repopulate deleted data. We also keep a minimal record that a deletion happened — which brand, which connector, when, and how many rows — because being able to prove a deletion took place is itself a compliance obligation. That record contains no store or customer data.
